Step2 Easy Turn Coupe Giveaway!

I was browsing one of my favorite blogs, Money Saving Mom, one day when I saw a post that the toy company Step2 was taking applications for Test Drive Bloggers...so I decided to apply, just for fun. And I'm not gonna lie, I was REALLY surprised when I was chosen to be 1 of 25 bloggers for their 2013 Test Drive Bloggers Team!

Obviously, I don't normally do reviews on my blog. I started writing to share our story and raise awareness about Brenna's condition, and I don't ever want to veer too much from that. But with the vast majority of our followers being parents and grandparents, I thought this would be a fun venture...and with all of the publicity involving Step2, I figure it can only help gain even more awareness for ichthyosis! Not only that, but I'm always on the lookout for new ways to encourage Brenna to move, so getting to review new toys seems perfect for that too :)

We had one excited little boy when our first toy came. He waited all day for Daddy to get home and then pulled out his own tools to help Daddy put it together! We've mostly been relegated to the basement thanks to winter, but he has been begging to take it outside every day. I relented one day...

I was completely thrilled as we put the new Step2 Easy Turn Coupe together. See that see-through sunroof on top? It has a push handle - genius! Not only that, but there is a removable floor board, so that Connor can put his feet up while I push when his legs are tired (which seems to be quite often :) ). AND the front wheel allows for 360-degree turning. Brilliant, Step2, brilliant. My back thanks you.

As we all know, Connor has quite the cars obsession...so he has been quite attached to his new car, asking to sit in it while he eats or watches TV! He's pretty pumped that the car has a cup holder for his sippy cup and a little trunk for a toy or snack. He keeps wanting to put goldfish crackers in there, since that's what the box's picture showed...my little rule-follower.

Of course, Connor wanted Brenna to get in on the action! We simply piled a blanket around her, so she could take it for a spin... I'm so excited that this is a toy she can grow into and that Connor can get a lot of use out of now, since it's for ages 1-5.

OK so here's one of the best parts about the Easy Turn Coupe - Step2 launched a new campaign called "I ♥ Easy Turn Coupe" in support of The Saving tiny Hearts Society, which funds research for congenital heart defects - America's #1 birth defect that affects more than 40,000 babies a year. How awesome is that?! I am always so impressed when companies and businesses make it a point to give back and help others. And children's health issues are obviously very close to my heart now.
